This study is concerning the previous researches, "the Geology and Coastal depositional environment of Bigeum" and "Dochodo, Shinangun, chonnam." The geology of these islands consists of shale, tuff and feldspar porphyry in the Cretaceous of Mesozoic. The mudflast and beaches of the islands is constructed by fine sediments that have been transported by the sea and tidal current. The waves and storms influence the sea and tidal current as well as the sorting of sediments. The Simok and Myeongsasimri beaches are very well sorted areas in Shinangun.
