Abstract
In Australia, there is a position that emphasizes reflection on the violent past of the indigenous Australians who had lived in Australia for a long time before the arrival of Europeans, while there is another position that emphasizes the country's brilliant achievements and commitment to the nation. The clash of these two perceptions of history has led to a history war. The former sees the latter as hindering social integration by rejecting multiculturalism and inclusiveness with the “white blindfold” logic of turning a blind eye to or denying the past abuse and violence against indigenous people, causing further harm to indigenous people. The latter believes that the former is forcing “political correctness” on them by forcing them to wear “black armbands” and is causing them shame, and claims that they have rewritten history by exaggerating the damage done to the indigenous community. As historians, politicians, and public debaters engage in debates about Indigenous Australians, Australia's history has aroused intense social interest. History education, museums, and memorials have become a place of great public interest and debate. In the case of school history education, there was a conflict over the use of terminology and content related to the history of Indigenous Australians as an important site of the history wars.
