근래에 와서 현대 가족은 매우 빠른 변화에 노출되면서 새로운 형태와 정서를 발달시켰다. 현대 가족의 삶을 보여주는 두 가지 대표적인 말은 변화와 다양성일 것이다. 최근에는 근대 시대가 지녀왔던 가족에 대한 이상이 무너지면서 근대적 관념을 기반으로 한 가족 서비스 패러다임은 이미 낡고 효용이 적어지고 있는 실정이다. 따라서 현대 가족의 변화를 이해하고 이에 적절한 새로운 가족 서비스 패러다임을 발전시킬 필요성이 대두되고 있다. 본고는 다양한 형태로 나타나는 현대 가족의 정서와 가치관의 변화를 현재 한국 가족과 비교하여 고찰해 보았다. 이를 바탕으로 가족 서비스에서는 전문가 독주의 가족 실천 양식을 지양하고, 보다 가족과 협력하여 그들의 삶의 현실과 실제적 의미에 관심을 가지는 것이 바람직한 변화의 방향이라고 보았다. 새로운 가족 서비스 패러다임은 가족들과 함께 언어적 공동체를 구성하고, 열린 대화를 통해 새로운 대안과 자원을 찾는 실천 양식으로 제안하였다. 주제어: 가족 서비스, 가족 서비스 패러다임, 현대 가족, 협력적 접근, 열린 대화
Abstract
Few institutions evidence the marks of change as visibly as the family. Two words seem to capture the essence of family life today: change and diversity. Recent development in family services has been to reject modernist ideal of the family and the potential for oppression within the modernist stance. It is imperative to form a more positive and realistic view of the family. To address the acceptance of a new development in family, a paradigm shift in family services would be necessary. In a new service paradigm for a family, it is recommended more respectful and collaborative approaches, emphasizing on the reciprocal character of professional work. In addition, instead of primarily trying to change the family the main efforts occur in building a linguistic community in which the assumptions and understanding about reality are shared both by the family and the professionals. Also the focus of the family service is to promote open dialogue in which new understanding starts to emerge as a social, shared phenomenon, and new resources become available for the family.
