한국 교회 외국인 사역자의 스트레스 경험에 관한 현상학적 연구

이 연구의 목적은 한국 교회 외국인 사역자의 스트레스 경험의 현상학적 본질 이해하고, 그 의미를 밝히는 것에 있다. 이를 위해 한국 교회에서 사역하는 외국인 교회사역자 6명을 선정하여 심층 면담을 하였다. 외국인 사역자의 스트레스 경험의 본질을 드러내기 위하여 Giorgi의 현상학적 방법론을 사용하였다. 연구결과에 따르면, 외국인 사역자가 경험하는 스트레스의 경험요인은 5개의 구성요소와 13개의 하위 구성요소로 나눠진다. 5개의 구성요소로는 관계적 스트레스, 사역적 스트레스, 개인 스트레스, 스트레스 극복방식, 그리고 한국 교회에 바람으로 분류되었다. 하위 구성요소를 종합해 보면, 연구 참여자들은 사역 현장에서 사역적인 스트레스뿐만 아니라 인간관계, 그리고 개인적 스트레스를 경험하고 있었다. 또한 사역자인 자신에 대한 한국인 사역자들과 성도들의 불신, 존중하지 않는 태도, 그리고 역할에 있어서 제한점이 있으므로 기쁨이 없을 뿐만 아니라, 사역에 대한 심리적 갈등을 경험하고 있다. 그럼에도 이들은 지지그룹을 통하여 스트레스를 극복하고 있으며, 하나님의 약속에 의지하여 사역자로서의 생활을 지탱하고 있다는 점도 발견하였다.
Abstract
The purpose of this study is to understand the phenomenological nature of the stress experience of foreign ministers and to elucidate its meaning. To this end, six foreign church ministers working in Korean churches were selected for in-depth interviews. Giorgi's phenomenological methodology was used to reveal the nature of the stress experience of foreign workers. According to the research results, the experience factors of stress experienced by foreign ministers are divided into 5 components and 13 subcomponents. The five components were classified as relational stress, ministry stress, personal stress, stress coping method, and desire for the Korean church. To summarize the subcomponents, the study participants experienced not only ministry stress, but also interpersonal and personal stress in the field of ministry. In addition, there is no joy in the distrust and disrespectful attitude of Korean ministers and members toward themselves as ministers, and limitations in their roles, as well as experiencing psychological conflicts about ministry. Nevertheless, they found that they were overcoming stress through the support group, and that they were supporting their lives as ministers by relying on God's promises.
