Abstract
This study explores the concept of Aboha (nothing out of the ordinary), which has gained attention in contemporary society, from the perspective of pastoral care. It also examines its practical application using Gestalt techniques. Originally, the notion of small but certain happiness focusing on oneself and embracing a healthy, mindful lifestyle was popularized as a path to true happiness. However, this pursuit has increasingly become a source of pressure, shifting away from its original intention. Therefore, people began to view Aboha not as a quest for special achievements, but as a way of life that seeks inner stability and satisfaction in ordinary life. This study aims to identify the close connection between Aboha and the Gestalt concepts of 'contact,' 'figure and ground' and 'here and now,' interpreting them in the context of pastoral care and suggesting practical applications. First, pastoral care through 'contact' enables individuals to fully recognize their feelings and experiences, which helps them to deepen their relationship with God and experience spiritual peace. Second, applying the principle of figure and ground helps them discover the intrinsic value of their existence and establish their faith identity, free from the evaluation of others. Third, the practice of the here and now can free one from past regrets and future anxieties and cultivate a religious attitude of finding gratitude and joy in the present moment. This study suggests that the Aboha life not only promotes inner healing for individuals but can also contribute to strengthening religious care and healthy spiritual exchange within church communities. It also suggests that in the realm of pastoral care, which emphasizes communal bonding, sufficient community connection and faith interpretation can have a positive impact on the lives of individuals.
