연구 목적: 본 연구는 졸업인증 영어수업에 참여한 대학교 4학년의 영어학습 탈동기와 진로장벽의 관계를 조사하는 데 목적이 있다. 연구 방법: 학생들은 영어학습 탈동기, 진로장벽과 인구통계학적 설문에 참여하였다. 연구 내용: 총 278명의 대학교 4학년 학생들이 국제영어수업에 3주간 참여하였다. 결론 및 제언: 연구 결과로, 영어선호도 하위집단이 상위집단보다 영어학습 탈동기가 높았다. 영어선호도 하위집단이 상위집단보다 진로장벽이 높음을 알 수 있다. 또한 영어선호도가 높을수록 영어학습 탈동기는 낮아지고 영어선호도를 통제한 상태에서는, 경제적 어려움과 부모와의 갈등이 높을수록 영어학습 탈동기가 높아졌다. 본 연구의 교육적 시사점으로 영어학습 탈동기를 낮추기 위한 영어교육과정 개발이 필요해보인다. 진로 교과내용을 포함한 영어수업은 탈동기 뿐만 아니라 진로장벽도 낮출 수 있을 것이다.
Abstract
The purpose of this study was to investigate the relationship between English learning demotivation and career barrier of senior university students in English graduation accreditation. The students participated in the survey including English learning demotivation, career barrier, and demographic questionnaires. A total of 278 senior students took part in English classes of graduation accreditation for three weeks. As a result of the study, English learning demotivation was higher in the lower group of English preference. It can be seen that the lower group of English preference has higher career barriers than the upper group. In addition, the higher the English preference, the lower the English learning demotivation, and in the state of controlling the English preference, the higher the economic difficulties and the conflict with parents, the higher the English learning demotivation. As a pedagogical implication of the study, it is necessary to develop English curriculum to reduce English learning demotivation. English classes including career contents will lower demotivation as well as career barrier.
