Abstract
The concept of approximate truth is viable as long as there are clear cases and counter-cases of approximately true descriptions. Hilpinen and Lewis’s theoretical account of approximate truth can handle those clear cases. Antirealists are also in need of the concept of approximation. The inductive-statistical model is employed when approximate truth explains success. Approximate truth, although easily obtainable, can explain success.
