초록

Gyejigamcho-tang (GG) is documented as a treatment for abnormal heart palpitations in Korean medicine. In this study, we investigated the anti-inflammatory effects of a water extract of GG on lipopolysaccharide (LPS)-induced RAW 264.7 cells. We first measured the levels of nitric oxide (NO) and prostaglandin E2 (PGE2), which are key products involved in inflammatory processes. Additionally, we assessed the levels of enzymes, such as inducible nitric oxide synthase (iNOS) and cyclooxygenase-2 (COX-2), and cytokines, including interleukin 6 (IL-6), tumor necrosis factor alpha (TNF-α), and interleukin 1 beta (IL-1β). Our results showed that GG suppressed the production of NO and PGE2 in a dose-dependent manner and reduced both the protein levels and mRNA expression of iNOS and COX-2. Furthermore, GG decreased the mRNA expression of IL-6, TNF-α, and IL-1β. In conclusion, GG demonstrated the ability to reduce the production of LPS-induced inflammatory factors, suggesting its potential for clinical research into the treatment of inflammatory diseases.
