『家政』을 통해 본 18세기의 생활세계

Abstract

This paper attempts to explore the characteristics and meanings of the eighteenth century lifeworld by focusing on Gajeong,(『家政』), produced in late Chosun dynasty. In this paper Gajeong indicates the two texts. One is a name of chapter of JeungboSanlimgyungje(『增補山林經濟』). The other is a name of book, owned by Kyujanggak(奎章閣), similar to the structure and content of the former. The two texts played the roles of agricultural book and didactic literature. Gajeong showed the moral vision for family relation and ethical order in the spirits of “cultivate one’s morals and then manage the family”(修身齊家), stressing that the family is a physical space for the production and manipulation of goods. These texts reflected the changed consciousness of the late Chosun dynasty. In short, they showed the formation of the new knowledge of lifeworld in the eighteenth century, such as the appearance of the concept of “family management” and the recognition of human desires.
