베이비부머대상 죽음준비교육 프로그램의 효과성 검증

초록

본 연구의 목적은 죽음준비교육 프로그램이 베이비부머의 죽음에 대한 태도(정서적 불안, 인지적 수용, 행동적 반응)와 삶의 의미에 미치는 효과를 검증하는 것이다. 이에 본연구는 베이비부머에게 죽음준비교육 12회기를 실시하였고, 실험설계로 비동일 통제집단 전후비교조사를 활용하여 교육의 효과성을 측정하였다. 연구는 D광역시 D교육문화센터에서 베이비부머(1955년~1963년) 80명(실험집단 40명, 통제집단 40명)을 대상으로 2016년 9월 1일부터 2017년 2월 15일까지 진행하였고, 실험집단에 대해서는12주간의 죽음준비교육 프로그램을 1회 100분씩 실시하였다. 프로그램을 실시한 다음죽음에 대한 태도의 정서적 불안, 인지적 수용, 행동적 반응과 삶의 의미에 대한 사전- 사후-추후 효과성 검증으로 독립표본 t 검증, 공변량 분석, ANCOVA, 대응표본 t 검증을 실시한 결과, 죽음준비교육 프로그램이 베이비부머의 죽음에 대한 태도와 삶의 의미변화에 유의미한 영향이 있음이 나타났다. 연구결과를 바탕으로 베이비부머를 대상으로한 죽음준비교육 프로그램의 운영과 활용 기반에 필요한 제언을 하였다.

Abstract

This study aims to verify how a program of education for preparing death has effect on baby boomers’ attitude towards death (emotional anxiety, cognitive acceptance, behavioral response) and meaning of life. We conducted 12-session death preparing educations for baby boomers and measured the results of training using pre and post comparison test of heterogenous control group as experimental design. The research involved 80 baby boomers (born from 1955 to 1963, 40 persons in experimental group, 40 persons in control group) from 1st of September to 2016 to 15th of February, 2017 at D Education and Culture Center in D Metropolitan City. 12-session program of education for preparing death (100 minutes per education) was conducted in experimental group. To evaluate the effects of the experimental and control groups on the major dependent variables (the attitude on death and the meaning of life) at three intervals(pre-test, post-test, and 10 weeks follow-up), we used independent t-test, covariance test, ANCOVA, matching sample t-test, which showed meaningful influence on baby boomers’ attitude towards death and the change of meaning of their lives. Based on the results of this research, the proposal for base of managing and implementing program of death preparing education for baby boomers has been suggested.
