Abstract

The purpose of this paper is to select and discuss songs that project one's emotions through animals among the works of Sijo as part of a research project under the so-called 'human form and human form of animals in oriental classics'. ‘Projection’ is a kind of defense mechanism and is a mental response or psychological action universally inherent in humans. Therefore, the necessity of approaching projection as a functional aspect of emotion expressed by writers or characters in literature that reflects it can be raised, as well as being naturally expressed in the general life of human beings. Individual emotions expressed in most Sijo works is generally based on human emotions. The reason why this study pays attention to the defense mechanism of 'fighting' is that it is a series of attempts to analyze works by borrowing psychological analysis elements in the literature research method, and it can also be said that human emotions revealed in sijo are simple longing and resentment. This is because it recognized the need to approach from a more multi-layered level beyond interpreting only with love, sadness, and love. As is well known, animals have always appeared in human history and narratives. Beginning with bears and tigers in the Dangun myth, animals used to show their familiarity with very diverse appearances and characters in many old stories. Therefore, animals are closely related to human life to the extent that they cannot be discussed separately from humans, and this proves that animals and human emotions are organically combined. This phenomenon is reproduced intact in poetry literature. Therefore, it can be seen that various animals are often used and appear in Sijo works in which the poet's emotions and emotions are particularly important. For example, it is easy to find works in which the poet's emotions are projected by setting animals such as dogs, chickens, geese, and crows as projectiles.
