Ground source heatpumps(GSHPs) are among the mostefficient and comfortable heating and cooling technologiescurrentlyavailable,becausetheyusetheearth’snaturalheattoprovideheating,cooling,andoften,waterheating.AndBuilding IntegratedGeothermalSystem(BIGS)isoneofGSHPswhichinstallgroundheat exchanger(GHE)inenergy pilewithoutboreholetosavetheinvestmentcost.Therefore,theexperimentisto evaluatetheheatingperformanceofBIGSinKorea.Theexperimentalresultsindicatethattheaverageheatpump COPandoverallsystem’sCOPvaluesareapproximately4.4and3.0inoneweek.ThisstudyshowsthattheBIGS couldbeusedforheatinginKorea.
