본 연구에서는 웹디자인 기획에서 사용되고 있는 정성적 조사기법들을 비교 분석하여 문제점을 파악하고 특히 그 중에서 마케팅 분야에 비교적 최근에 개발된 조사기법인 ZMET(Zaltman Metaphor Elicitation Technique)이 소비자들의 욕구로부터 개념을 추출하는데 유용한 방법인지를 알아보고자 한다. 또한 ZMET 연구방법의 적용사례에서는 ZMET 조사방법론을 통해 어린이용 영어 교육 웹사이트의 의사결정자인 어머니들의 어린이 영어학습에 관한 잠재욕구를 파악하여 그들 스스로도 인지하지 못하는 무의식중의 추상적 욕구를 추출해 내는 체계적인 접근 방법을 제시해 보고자 한다.
Abstract
This study examines many other qualitative research methods during web design planning. And points out several problems concerning research process as well as the results. The most recently ZMET(Zaltman Metaphor Elicitation Technique) is developed in marketing area. ZMET is designed to elicit metaphors from participants that reveal the deeper ideas and concepts that organize and structure their thoughts and feelings about the topic. Children's English education web site can be applied to ZMET method in case study. We try to identify and understand mothers' inner needs because mothers are the decision-makers who choose their children's education material. The results of the experiment showed each mother's subconscious needs. Therefore, ZMET might be effective qualitative research method to understand the underlying people's needs.
