식민지시기 한국 漢詩選集의 존재상과 문학사적 의의 - 柳栢榮 編 『八家精華』(1939)를 중심으로

Abstract

This study newly investigated and arranged the literature unknown to the public to explore the anthologies of Sino‐Korean poetry edited in the period of colonial Korea, and lighted up the characteristics of Palgajeonghwa, the anthologies of Sino‐Korean poetry published in 1939 in the flow of such streams. Palgajeonghwa is a collection of great eight poets’ 1,057 poems of 7eonyulsi (seven‐syllabic verse with a fixed form) between the 19th century and the 1920s. In volume 1, there are poems from Jo Su‐sam (25 poems), Shin Wi (207 poems), Kim Jeong‐hee (55 poems), Lee Hak‐gyu (50 poems), and Kang Wi (260 poems), and in volume 2, there are poems form Kim Taek‐yeong (98 poems), Lee Geon‐chang (96 poems), and Hwang Hyeon (266 poems). Palgajeonghwa is the anthologies of Sino‐Korean poetry with the major three characteristics. First, in a perspective that Palgajeonghwa was a collection of 8 poets’ 7eonyulsi, it purely had editor’s intention of presenting exemplary Sino‐Korean poetry rather than that of appreciation and criticism. Second, in the fact that Palgajeonghwa attached great importance to Jaha Shin Wi and specifically embossed Kim Taek‐yeong’s poems, it had a perspective regarding important Taek‐yeong’s criticism and his poems. Specifically embossing Kim Taek‐yeong’s criticism and his poems was a special choice with a subjective opinion in a position of Sino‐Korean professional in the era. Third, all of the eight families of Palgajeonghwa had ‘Seoul literary style,’ and it is assumed that the editor Ryu Baekyeong had the intention of presenting poems with Seoul literary style to Daegu region through selecting those poems. Palgajeonghwa required the necessity of it and was published within a special community of Daegu, and it is assumed that it was closely utilized in the local Daegu in reality.
