Abstract

The emergence and circulation of the model peoplein the period of Japanese Imperialism.Lee, Kyungsook(Kyungpook National University)The purpose of this article is to investigate the way of gaze at the colonial people in the period of Japanese Imperialism. The method of this study is the analysis of the pupil's school records of the elementary school in 1940-1946. The purpose of the record system in the period of Japanese Imperialism is to educate and evaluate the national people of Japanese Imperialism. The social use of the record is to circulate through the upper schools and the society. According to the contents of the records, students are divided into the model people and the disorderly people. The model people have submissive demeanor, good head, high scholastic achievement, and good japanese ability. The disorderly people are contrary to the model people. Japanese Imperialism wants to censor the disorderly people and circulate the model people through schools and social fields. The logic of the two-type people in the period of Japanese Imperialism is a colonial policy with the purpose of the divide and rule of the colonial people.
