Abstract
Pungjang1 is a typical poem of poet Huang, Dong-kyu. And also, it's not a poem that could be understand easily, even so this poem gives a definitely poetic message. Like any other good writings, this poem also excels in its cohesional structure and implication. Especially, not only through the syntactic and textual arrangement of poetic diction, the metaphor procedure in this poem is quite exquisite, but also the issue of intertextuality that relates to text allusion and the issue of signification that links to the literally meaning in the word form itself is mixed so much together. This paper will analyse how each poetic diction is organized semiotically to form poetic world and then will offer a basic ground for the principle of the decoding and encoding of the poem.
