가구균등화지수의 분배이론적 의미와 불평등지수에 미치는 영향 - 1982년∼2004년 도시가구 가계지출을 중심으로 -

초록

본 논문은 가구균등화지수를 이용한 불평등지수 추계의 분배이론적 의미와 불평등지수에 미치는 영향을 검토한다. 그 주요 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 가구균등화지수를 이용한 불평등 지수 추계는 ‘후생’과 ‘부족분’을 불평등 평가 대상과 기준으로 한다. 둘째, 가구균등화지수의 θ값에 따라 불평등지수는 U-자 형태를 갖는다. 셋째, 가구단위로 조사되는 자료와 가구균등화지수를 이용하는 경우, 분석단위와 집계단위의 조합은 총 9개가 가능하다. 이때, 각 조합에 따른 후생경제학적 함의는 서로 양립불가능하며, 각각에 근거한 불평등지수 역시 다르게 나타난다. 따라서 특정 결과에 대한 해석은 매우 신중하게 이루어져야 한다.

Abstract

This paper examines the theoretic meanings and the effect on Gini-coefficient of the equivalence scale of households. The conclusion of this paper are: First, using the equivalence scale of households, the evaluation of inequality means the "welfare-based evaluation" and the "shortage equality" as an evaluation criterion. Second, in general, the estimations of Gini appear in the shape of U-curve with increasing θ. Third, the mixtures of the analysis unit and the aggregation unit are nine. Each meanings differ from mixture to mixture in a sense of welfare economics, and are incompatible. So, the results should be interpreted to be very careful.
