本稿는 ‘結果狀態final state’라는 意味役 設定의 타당성을 검토하고 ‘結果狀態’로 記述할 수 있는 구체적인 例를 類型別로 提示하는 것을 目的으로 하였다. ‘NP-(으)로’ 成分을 要求하는 動詞는 크게 移動을 나타내는 동사와 變化를 나타내는 동사로 나눌 수 있다. 前者와 後者는 그 差異가 있는데, 動詞가 變化를 나타내는 경우 ‘NP-(으)로’ 成分은 語順이 자유롭지 않고, 관계화되지 않는 등 移動을 나타내는 경우와 區分되는 특징을 보였다. 이러한 이유로 동사가 移動을 나타내는 경우는 ‘NP-(으)로’를 到達點으로, 동사가 變化를 나타내는 경우는 ‘NP-(으)로’를 結果狀態로 解釋하는 것이 타당함을 확인하였다. 變化를 나타내는 경우는 크게 對象 自體의 變化와 認識上의 變化로 구분할 수 있었다. 前者의 경우는 屬性 變化, 地位 變化, 數量 變化 등으로 세분되며, 後者의 경우는 感覺知覺, 判斷評價, 推測, 區分統合, 決定, 取扱 등으로 세분된다.
Abstract
A Study on the Thematic Role ‘Final State’ Shin, Seo-in This paper argues the necessity of thematic role ‘final state' and illustrates the cases of ‘final state'. The verbs which need an argument ‘NP-(eu)ro' are divided into two groups: the verbs meaning ‘movement (change of place)' and the verbs meaning ‘change(change of state)'. The result of ‘movement' is interpreted as ‘goal' and the result of ‘change' is interpreted as ‘final state'. The sentences which represent ‘change' are syntactically and semantically distinct from that of ‘movement': the word order of the noun phrases is rather fixed, the noun phrase which represent ‘final state' can not be relativized, and the entailment of the sentence is identification. The meaning ‘change' has two kinds of sub-meaning: physical change(the change of the object itself) and mental change(the change in the sense of recognition). Physical change can be subdivided into the change of character, position, and quantity; mental change can be subdivided into the change of sense and perception, judgement and evaluation, guess, division and classification, decision, and treatment.
