이 논문은 가톨릭과 성공회와 같은 전례 중심의 교회 공간 안에 고정식으로 구축된 세례대의 위치에 따른 예배공간의 변화와 그 신학적 의미를 살펴보려는 것이 주된 내용이지만, 이 논문을 참고하여 손쉽게 이동할 수 있는 세례반을 통해 예배공간과 예배에 다양한 변화를 줄 수 있을 것으로 기대한다. 이동할 수 있는 세례반은 고정식 세례대보다 상황에 따라 다양하게 그 위치 변화를 할 수 있는 이점이 있으며, 또 교회공동체는 세례반의 형태와 재질, 그리고 예배공간 안에서 세례 의식 집례 위치의 변화에 따른 시각적인 이미지를 통해 세례에 관하여 다양한 신앙적(영적), 교육적인 체험을 함양할 수 있을 것으로 기대한다. 예배를 말씀선포에 중심을 갖고 있는 개신교회는 더 효과적인 말씀전달을 위한 음향설비는 구축하면서 의식용 음향설비는 소홀히 하는 경향이 있다. 시각 보다는 청각에 더 의존하는 예배 구성일수록 각기 다른 의식을 진행하기에 적절한 음향을 구비하는 것이 바람직하다. 세례는 그리스도를 따르는 삶으로 이행해 가는 것으로서 세례를 통한 삶의 방식은 공동체적인 문제까지 담고 있다. 교회 공동체가 빛과 소금 이듯이, 교회는 그 자체로서 사회 안에서 세례당이요, 세례대이며, 세례반이다. 사회 안에 교회가 있는 것은 그리스도의 선교를 위함이며, 사회를 그리스도와 연합하도록 인도하여 그의 삶을 따르도록 이끄는 것이다. 교회는 개인 뿐 만이 아니라 그 지역사회를 세례반으로 이끌어야 할 중요한 사회 선교의 소명을 받은 것이다.
Abstract
The main purpose of this thesis is to review changes and the theological meaning of worship space in response to the position of font fixed in liturgy-centered church places as the Catholic and the Anglican church. This is also expected to help bring various changes to worship and worship space through a portable baptismal vessel. A portable baptismal vessel has more advantages than a stationary vessel when located variously in different situations. The church society may expect to have both spiritual and educational experiences of baptism through visual images brought by differing shapes and materials of font and the changes in position of the rite of baptism in worship space. The Protestant Church which regards worship as Word-centered tends to put emphasis on sound facilities. It must aim to improve ritual sound as well as to effectively spread the gospels. If the structure of service depends more upon sound than sight, it is highly recommended to prepare sound system suitable for the individual ceremony. Baptism is to perform a life led by Jesus Christ, which also covers social issues. As church society stands for the light and the salt, may church be baptistry, font and baptismal vessel itself. The church being in the society, is for the sake of the mission of God. It is to lead the society to unite with Jesus Christ and to follow His holy life. The church is called upon for the most important mission to lead both individuals and the society to be baptized.
