이웃환경특성이 저소득아동의 자아탄력성에 미치는 영향-가족과정요인의 매개효과를 중심으로-

초록

본 연구의 목적은 이웃유대나 이웃문제 등 이웃환경특성이 저소득 아동의 자아탄력성에 영향을 미치는지, 이들 간의 관계에서 가족과정요인이 매개적 역할을 하는지를 살펴보고자 하는 것이다. 이를 위해 본 연구는 사회해체이론 및 가족과정모델을 이론적 근거로 하여 연구모형을 설정하였으며, 지역아동센터를 이용하는 만 7세에서 12세 자녀를 둔 214명의 어머니를 대상으로 설문조사 된 자료를 활용하여 구조방정식모형 분석을 통해 경로과정을 검증하였다. 분석결과, 구조모형과 측정모형은 모두 자료에 적절한 모형적합도를 보였으며, 최종 수정한 구조모형의 경로들은 모두 유의한 것으로 확인되었다. 최종수정모형의 분석결과에 의하면, 이웃환경특성인 이웃유대와 이웃문제는 가족기능 및 긍정적 양육행동의 매개적 과정을 통해 아동의 자아탄력성에 간접적인 효과를 보였고 직접적인 영향은 미치지 못하는 것으로 나타났다. 이러한 분석결과를 토대로 저소득 아동의 자아탄력성에 대한 개입과 후속연구를 위한 방안을 논의하였다.

Abstract

This study aims to examine (1) the effects of neighborhood environment characteristics such as neighborhood bonding and neighborhood problems on the ego-resilience of low-income children, and (2) whether family process factors mediates the relationship between neighborhood environment characteristics and the ego-resilience of low-income children. For these purposes, a research model was created based on the social disorganization theory and family process model. 214 mothers with seven to twelve-years of children using community child centers were included in this study and Structural Equation Modeling was used to analyze the data and to test the research model. The results are as follows. First, neighborhood environment characteristics did not show the direct effect on the ego-resilience of low-income children. Second, family process factors such as family function and positive parenting mediated the relationship between neighborhood environment characteristics and the ego-resilience of low-income children. Based on these results, several theoretical and practical implications and directions for future research were discussed.
