이 글의 목적은 윤동주의 시에서 나타나는 자기의식의 특징을 데카르트가 대표하는 서양의 근대적 자기의식과 대비시켜 서술하는 데 있다. 데카르트적 자기의식의 진리는 다른 무엇보다 자기확신에 기초한다. 그 자기확신의 내용은 자기동일성과 자기 존재의 확실성이다. 그러나 윤동주의 시에서 우리가 만나는 자기의식은 철저히 자기상실과자기분열에 사로잡힌 자아이다. 윤동주가 보여주는 자기의식의 진리를 통해 우리는 근대적 주체의 자기인식이 한 가지로 정형화될 수 없으며 데카르트적 주체와는 다른 주체의 자기경험이 가능하다는 것을알 수 있다.
Abstract
In this paper I tried to describe the essential feature of selfconsciousness which is shown in the poems of Yun Dongju in comparison with the case of Descartes. The Cartesian truth of selfconsciousness lies on the self-certainty, namely that of self-identity and the certainty of one’s own existence. But in the case of Yun Dongju the essential features of selfconsciousness can be characterized by self-losing and self-division above all. Through this difference we come to know that the self-experiences of the modern subject cannot be integrated to the only one pattern, but the other pattern of the self-experience of subject than that of Descartes is possible.
