본 연구는 대학 교양교육 수업에서 교수자의 AI 도구 활용이 대학생의 AI 활용 행동에 미치는 영향을 실증적으로 분석하고, 이 행동에 영향을 미치는 주요 요인을 규명하는 데 목적이 있다. 이를 위해 D대학교 교양 교과목 수강생 221명을 대상으로 설문조사를 실시하였으며, 주요 독립변수로는 AI 활용에 대한 인지, AI 활용의 유용성, AI 기술에 대한 사회적 분위기를 설정하고, 종속변수로는 AI 활용 행동을 제시하였다. 다중회귀분석 결과, 세 변수 모두 AI 활용 행동에 통계적으로 유의한 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났으며, 그 중 AI 기술에 대한 사회적 분위기가 가장 큰 영향을 미치는 요인으로 분석되었다. 또한 AI 도구의 유용성과 AI 활용에 대한 인지도 역시 행동 변화에 중요한 역할을 하는 것으로 확인되었다. 이러한 결과는 대학 교육 현장에서 AI 활용을 촉진하기 위해서는 학생 개인의 인지와 효용성뿐만 아니라, 사회적 분위기 조성이 핵심적임을 시사한다. 이에 따라 대학은 교수자, 학과, 행정 조직이 협력하여 AI 활용을 장려하는 학습 생태계를 구축하고, 실질적 체험 기회와 AI 리터러시 교육, 윤리 및 신뢰성에 대한 논의 등 제도적 지원을 병행할 필요가 있다. 마지막으로, 본 연구는 단일 대학의 단면적 조사라는 한계가 있으므로, 향후 다양한 대학과 전공 집단을 대상으로 한 후속 연구가 필요함을 제안한다.
Abstract
This study empirically analyzes the impact of instructors’ use of AI tools in university liberal arts courses on students’ AI utilization behaviors, aiming to identify the main influencing factors. A survey was conducted with 221 students enrolled in liberal arts courses at D University. The primary independent variables included students’ awareness of AI utilization, perceived usefulness of AI, and the social climate surrounding AI technology, while the dependent variable was students’ AI utilization behavior. Multiple regression analysis revealed that all three variables had statistically significant effects on AI utilization behavior, with the social climate regarding AI technology emerging as the most influential factor. Additionally, the perceived usefulness of AI tools and awareness of AI utilization were also found to play important roles in behavioral change. These results suggest that fostering a positive social climate is essential, alongside individual awareness and perceived usefulness, to promote AI utilization in higher education. Accordingly, universities should establish a collaborative learning ecosystem involving instructors, departments, and administrative bodies to encourage AI usage, and provide practical experience opportunities, AI literacy education, as well as discussions on ethics and trust. Finally, as this study is based on a cross-sectional survey of a single university, the generalizability of the findings is limited, indicating the need for future research involving diverse universities and academic disciplines.
