본 연구는 이근삼 박사(이하에서 이근삼으로 칭한다)의 학위논문을 중심으로 그동안 부산의 고신대를 중심으로 논의되던 내용을 한국교회 전체의 화두로 그 내용을 확대하면서, 그의 신학과 학문적 고뇌를 한국개혁신학회와 연구재단의 지원을 받는 학술지인 한국개혁신학에서 다룬다는 것에 그 의의가 크다. 우선 본 연구는 이근삼의 학위논문이 신토 국가주의의 다양한 문제점을 한국인의 시각에서 다루고 있는 것을 살펴보고, 이러한 연구에 대해서 평가하고 제언과 전망을 하는 것이 연구의 목적이다. 더구나 이근삼이 일본인이 천황이라고 부르는 것을 그때로 따르고 있는 이근삼의 용어와는 달리, 본 연구는 일왕으로 표기하면서 신토 국수주의를 일본 기독교가 국가종교로 변질하는데 직접적인 원인이라는 점을 지적하고자 한다. 더 나아가서 본 연구는 한글로만 유일하게 세계에서 하나님의 성경적인 개념을 드러낼 수 있다는 실례를 들어서, 이런 성경적 하나님을 알고 있는 한국인에게 일본 제국주의가 시토 국가주의를 기반으로 하는 신사참배를 강요하게 되었을 때, 한국인은 그 신토 사상을 국민의례로 받아들이기를 거부할 뿐만 아니라 반성경적인 이단사상이라는 점에서 항거한 것을 중시하면서, 일본인의 자연신인 카미 대신에 성경이 계시한 하나님 신앙을 정통 신명으로 제안하고 있다.
Abstract
The significance of this study is that Dr. Lee Keun-sam (hereinafter referred to as Lee Keun-sam) expands the contents of the discussion centered on Kosin University in Busan to the topic of the Korean church as a whole, and that his theology and academic anguish are covered in Korea Reformed Theology, an academic journal supported by the Korea Reformed Theological Society and Korea Research Foundation. First of all, the purpose of this study is to examine how Lee Keun-sam's dissertation deals with various problems of Shinto nationalism from the view point of Koreans, and to evaluate, suggest, and forecast these studies. Moreover, unlike Lee Keun-sam's terminology, which refers to what the Japanese calls the emperor as the Havenly King, this study refers to him as the Japanese king and points out that Shinto nationalism is the direct cause of the transformation of Japanese Christianity into a state religion. Furthermore, this study uses the example of Hangul being the only one (하나님) in the world that can reveal the biblical concept of God, and when Japanese imperialism forced Koreans who knew the biblical God to worship shrines based on Shinto nationalism, Koreans not only refused to accept the Shinto idea as a national ritual Kami but also protested against it because it was an anti-biblical heresy.
