이 연구의 대상인 공간적 범주는 브라질, 러시아, 인도, 중국을 포함하는 BRICs이며, 시간적 범주는 탈냉전기라고 할 수 있는 1990년대 이후 오늘에 이르기까지의 기간이다. 연구의 시각으로는 국제정치 시각인 자유주의적 평화론이 활용되며, 연구의 방법으로는 비교분석 방법이 동원된다. 이 연구는 인권-민주화와 관련하여 경험적인 자료(empirical data)를 활용하고자 한다. 구체적으로 언급하면, 프리덤하우스의 인권-민주화 지수가 나타내는 국제적 인권 상황을 해석하고 개선방안을 제안하고자 하는 것이다.Ⅱ. 인권의 정치경제적 이해
Abstract
In the 21st century many scholars have taken liberalist approaches to international security issues. Liberal peace perspective is based on democratic peace theory emphasizing political democratization and interdependence theory stressing economic interdependence for world peace. It is meaningful that liberal peace perspective deals with both political democratization and economic interdependence for world peace. It is very important for BRICs to play major roles in maintaining world peace. In terms of international security Russia, China, and India are listed in the top 5 military powers, and they are attempting to chase advanced economic powers. Specially, India and China will be the leading countries in future world economy with consuming a lot of natural resources and energy. It is necessary that BRICs should play important roles in maintaining world peace with improving the levels of political democratization and economic interdependence. In addition, the political and economic soft landing of India among BRICs is a focul point in the stability of future world order.
