최근 대학 교육환경에 다양한 형태의 원격교육이 확대됨에 따라, 성공적인 원격교육을 위해 필요한 요소로서 대학생의 디지털 리터러시가 강조되고 있다. 이에 본 연구는 공과대학 대학생의 디지털 리터러시와 관련한 경험을 탐색하는 데 목적을 두었다. 연구의 목적을 달성하기 위해, 2022년 1학기부터 2023년 2학기까지 블렌디드 러닝 수업을 경험하고 있는 공과대학생 5명을 대상으로 심층 면담을 진행하고, 면담 결과를 분석하였다. 연구 결과, 연구 참여자들은 ‘테크놀로지의 이해와 활용’, ‘정보·데이터 탐색과 관리’, ‘디지털 윤리와 안전’, ‘능동적 참여’, ‘디지털 문제해결’ 관련해, 각 영역에서 세부적인 어려움을 겪고 있는 것으로 나타났다. 이러한 본 연구의 결과는 대학생의 디지털 리터러시 관련 경험과 어려움을 구체적으로 규명하였다는 점에서 의의가 있다. 끝으로, 본 연구의 결과를 토대로 대학생을 위한 디지털 리터러시 지원 방안에 대해 제언하였다.
Abstract
Recently, as various forms of distance education have expanded in higher education, digital literacy of university students is being emphasized as a crucial skill for successful distance education. The purpose of the present study is to explore the digital literacy experiences of university engineering students. To achieve this, in-depth interviews were conducted with five university students who experienced blended learning classes from the first semester of 2022 to the second semester of 2023, and the interview results were analyzed. The results showed that the participants experienced particular difficulties in the following areas: 'understanding and use of technology', 'information and data exploration and management', 'digital ethics and safety', 'active participation', and 'digital problem solving'. The results of this study are significant in that they specifically identified university students' experiences and difficulties related to digital literacy. Finally, based on the results of this study, suggestions to support digital literacy of university students are discussed.
