Abstract
This study aims to philosophically and empirically explore the impact of prejudice on human moral reasoning in a hyper-connected society. To this end, it examines the conceptual structure of prejudice, focusing on the discussions of Bacon, Descartes, and Gadamer, and analyzes 5,567 domestic news articles published between 2015 and 2024 using text mining techniques. The analysis shows that the frequency and interconnectivity of key terms such as “prejudice,” “reason,” “judgment,” “distortion,” and “ethics” have increased along with the spread of artificial intelligence discourse, indicating that moral reasoning in a hyper-connected society is being reconstructed within technological and social contexts. In particular, Bacon’s “idols of the marketplace,” Descartes’s “methodical doubt,” and Gadamer’s concept of “legitimate prejudice” provide meaningful theoretical frameworks for understanding issues of information distortion and critical judgment in a hyper-connected society.
