초·중등 교육을 위한 무용역량의 탐색

Exploration of Dance Competency for Elementary and Secondary Education in Korea

The purpose of this study is to seek measures to improve the dance competency for elementary and secondary education in Korea in accordance with the 2015-revised national curriculum that emphasizes core competency. Based on the theoretical framework for development of curriculum competence, delphi technique was adopted considering characteristic of dance and the specificity of education fields. Delphi survey was conducted three times to a panel of well-educated ten experts with rich teaching experience on dance education, research and curriculum. Dance competency was categorized into four: dance morality, dance cognitive, dance performance, and dance creation. The eighteen elements of dance competency were structured for each category. Responsibility, consideration, communication and sympathy were for dace morality. Knowledge, appreciation and criticism, understandings, and acceptance of dance were for dance cognitive. Body awareness, body adjustment, sense of rhythm, sensory expression, and emotion revelation were for dance performance. Desire for creation, production of idea, ability of problem solving, critical thinking, ability of performing, and ability of constructing movements were for dance creation. The general and comprehensive concept of competency was reflected in the concept of dance competency presented in the study. Moreover, the dance competence was provided to be the foundation of sustainable and expansible dance education.
