定齋 柳致明의 『關西遊錄』에 나타난 현실인식 −‘犯越’과 ‘田制’를 중심으로−

Abstract

Jeong Jae Ryu Chi-myeong's 『Kanseo Yurok』 showed the style of writing miscellaneous recording at the 19th century‘s Yurok writing method, and based on this writing method, he freely expressed his thoughts on politics as an incumbent official who governs the Kanseo area. The perception of reality shown in 『Kanseo Yurok』 becomes the main characteristic of understanding Ryu Chi-myeong's life as a official. First, in 『Kanseo Yurok』 the seriousness of ‘Border transgression’, the historical record of the Gija Joseon, and the impression of the character were described together. At that time, Ryu Chi-myeong announced the seriousness of the frequent ‘Border transgression’ of the Qing Dynasty people, and in the process, showed a concrete example of the 19th century ‘Border transgression’. At the same time, he witnessed and worried about the hard life of the people in the Kwanseo area, who had no choice but to commit a crime called ‘Border transgression’ for a living, but also worried amid the dilemma of having to keep the strictness of the strict national law from the standpoint of the magistrate. Meanwhile, Kanseo Yurok showed various interests in the land system such as ‘Gija-Jeongjeon’, ‘Cheonmaek-method’ and ‘Gyunjeon’. It revealed reality perception as an official governing the Kwanseo area in detail. In particular, Ryu Chi-myeong showed interest in ‘Gija-Jeongjeon’, which can examine its origins in Pyeongan Island, and has a positive perception. This, in line with the current situation, tried to find hope in the ‘Gija-Jeongjeon’ to solve the poor lives of the people due to the limitations of the land system in the Kwanseo area and the burden of taxes. The ‘Border transgression’ and ‘the land system’ seen in 『Kanseo Yurok』 are closely related to the people's living base. These two problems are the characteristic aspects of the perception of reality shown in 『Kanseo Yurok』 and also we in the modern society should consider that at least once in terms of social system.
