디지털교과서 활용이 학생들의 교우관계에 미치는 영향: 소셜네트워크 분석 기법을 활용한 다면적 관계망 변화를 중심으로

서책형 교과서의 한계를 탈피하고, 학생들에게 양질의 좋은 교과서를 제공하기 위해 도입된 디지털교과서는 기존 서책형 교과서의 내용에 풍부한 학습자료와 학습 지원 및 관리 기능이 부가되고 다양한 외부 자료와의 연계가 가능한 학생용 교재로, 그 장점과 효과에도 불구하고, 디지털 매체를 통해 교육내용이 전달된다는 측면에서 중독, 사회성 등의 역기능 우려는 낳고 있다. 이에 본 연구에서는 인간적 대면과 관계의 단절이라는 사회성 측면의 역기능 검증을 위해 디지털교과서의 활용이 학생의 교우관계에 미치는 영향을 알아보기 위해 학생들의 교우관계를 학습 관계, 놀이공유 관계, 정서공유 관계로 나누어 검사하고, 교우관계의 양적 지표로 교우 관계 활성도와 구조적 지표로 집중도, 단절도를 네트워크 분석 방법을 통해 분석하였다. 연구 결과, 연구학교 학생들은 사전, 사후 교우관계나 비교학교와의 비교에 있어서 교우관계의 활성도가 낮아지거나 관계의 집중도, 단절도가 높아지지 않았으며, 오히려 학습 관계에 있어 사전보다 사후에 있어 학습 관계 활성도가 높아지고, 비교학교와의 비교에서도 상호성이 증가하는 양상을 보였다. 이는 디지털교과서의 활용이 학생들 간의 상호작용을 저해하고 교우관계의 단절을 가져오기보다는 학습에 있어 학생들 간의 보다 활발한 의사소통을 가져오고 교류를 촉진시켰음을 보여주는 결과이다. 한편, 학습 관계에서와 달리 놀이 공유 관계와 정서 공유 관계에 있어서는 유의미한 변화와 차이가 나타나지 않았는데, 이는 보다 높은 수준의 정서적 관여가 형성되어야 하는 놀이공유, 정서공유 관계의 경우, 비교적 장기간에 걸쳐 변화되는 특성을 지니고 있기 때문으로 사료된다.
Abstract
This study aims to investigate the impact of the use of Digital Textbook on students through the friendship such as involving in collaborative learning, sharing plays and feeling empathy. Using network analysis methods, the activation degree as a qualitative indicator of the friendship and the degree of concentration and disconnection as a structural indicator of the friendship were analyzed. Unlike the concern of dysfunction by Digital Textbook, the results of the study show that the activation degree of the friendship of the pilot testing school students is not lowered nor is their concentration and disconnection degree of the friendship increased. Rather, the participants' post-test activation of involving in collaborative learning is the higher degree compared to their pre-test activation of it. Result showed that the experimental group appeared to have more interactivity than the control group. In conclusion, the utilization of Digital Textbook does not lead to the decrease of social interaction among students and the feeling of the disconnection from friends. This study confirms that the instructions with Digital Textbook can draw more interpersonal interaction among students and facilitate their friendships.
