방과후 서비스 이용에 영향을 미치는 지역사회 및 아동과 가구의 특성: 방과후 서비스의 이용유형과 이용 서비스 유형의 개수를 중심으로

본 연구는 방과후 서비스의 이용유형에 영향을 미치는 아동 개인 및 가구의 특성, 지역사회의 특성, 이들 간의 상호작용 효과를 살펴보기 위하여 한국 아동청소년패널의 초1패널 3차년도 자료를 분석하였다. 주요 연구결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 방과후 서비스 이용에 영향을 미치는 아동 개인 및 가구의 특성은 개별 방과후 서비스에 따라 차이를 보였다. 둘째, 여자아동보다는 남자아동일 때, 어머니의 학력이 고졸 이하일 때, 저소득가구일 때, 어머니가 취업상태일 때 이용하는 방과후 서비스 유형의 개수는 줄어드는 것으로 나타났다. 셋째, 지역사회의 사교육 참여율은 아동 개인의 사교육 이용이 아니라 이용하고 있는 전체 방과후 서비스 유형의 개수와 방과후 학교 이용여부에 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 넷째, 어머니의 학력과 지역사회 사교육 참여율의 상호작용 효과는 이용하는 방과후 서비스의 개수와 방과후 학교 이용여부에서 나타났다. 연구결과를 바탕으로 정책적 개입과 추후 연구를 제안하였다.
Abstract
This study aims to explore the individual, household, and community characteristics and interactions among these which explain the use of after-school services. For this, it analyzed data from the 1st grade panel of the Korean Children and Youth Panel Study. The main findings are as follows. First, the characteristics which explain the use of the after-school services differed by the type of the service. Second, being a boy, having a mother whose educational level is lower than or equal to high school graduate, being from a low-income family, or having a working mother lowered the number of types of after-school services in use. Third, the community participation rate in private after-school program affected the use of after-school program implemented in the school and the number of after-school services in use. Fourth, the interaction effects between mother’s educational level and the community participation rate in private after-school program were found in the use of after-school program implemented in the school and the number of after-school services in use. Based on these findings, it suggested policy implications and directions for future research.
