본고는 대학 글쓰기 교육에서 학습자의 내면적 가치관 탐색을 주제 설정과 문제의식 형성으로 연결하는 단계적 교육 방안을 제시하였다. 최근 대학생들은 정답 중심의 입시 교육과 외재적 동기 중심의 학습 환경 속에서 자율적 판단 기준을 형성하거나 자기 삶의 방향에 대해 성찰할 기회를 충분히 갖지 못한 채 대학에 진입한다. 이에 따라 글쓰기 수업에서조차 스스로의 문제의식을 바탕으로 주제를 선택하거나, 자신만의 관점을 드러내는 데 어려움을 겪는 경우가 많다. 본고는 이러한 현실적 한계를 극복하기 위해 ‘자기 탐색–사회적 연결–주제 구체화’의 3단계 수업 모형을 고안하였으며, 이를 실제 글쓰기 수업에 적용하고 그 교육적 효과를 분석하였다. 그 결과 학생들은 자신의 삶의 경험과 내면의 가치관을 바탕으로 주제를 설정하고, 타자와 사회에 대한 비판적 인식을 통해 의미 있는 문제의식을 구성하는 능력을 향상시킬 수 있었다. 특히 자신의 관심과 감정, 신념에서 출발한 글쓰기는 독창성과 진정성을 강화하고, 글쓰기 과정에 대한 몰입과 자기 효능감을 높이는 데 긍정적 영향을 미쳤다. 또한 본고에서 제안한 수업 모형은 생성형 인공지능 시대에 학습자의 사유 주체성과 저자성을 회복하는 데 있어 하나의 실천적 대안을 제시할 수 있다는 점에서 의의가 있다.
Abstract
This study proposes a step-by-step instructional model that connects students’ internal value exploration to topic development and the formation of critical awareness in university writing education. In the context of Korean higher education, many students enter university without sufficient opportunities for introspection due to a long-standing emphasis on exam-oriented learning and extrinsic motivation. Consequently, even in writing classes, students often struggle to identify their own concerns or to articulate original perspectives. To address this issue, this study presents a three-stage pedagogical model—“self-exploration – social connection – topic refinement”—and examines its application and impact in actual writing courses. As a result, students were able to formulate writing topics grounded in personal experience and internalized values, and developed meaningful problem awareness through critical engagement with others and society. Writing initiated from personal interests, emotions, and beliefs fostered authenticity, creativity, and increased engagement, contributing to enhanced self-efficacy in writing. Moreover, the proposed instructional model offers a practical alternative for cultivating authorship and independent thought in the age of generative AI, where genuine human thinking in writing is increasingly called into question.
