초록
This study examines how Buddhism and Islam coexist in Thai society under the Prayuth regime by using combination of literature research and field research methods. The Prayuth government specified that it would take an anti-secular line to solve the problems of modern Thai society, but the government policy announced to enhance national morality had little relevance to religion, and rather activities that emphasized the philosophy of sufficient economy were more A lot has been done. Meanwhile, the Prime Minister's order for religious support was aimed at emphasizing that Muslims must live in harmony in a Buddhist-dominated Thai society. On the other hand, Buddhists were relatively indifferent to the doctrines and ways of life of other religions, and did not fully recognize the need to embrace minority religions. Although most Muslims complied with the Prayut government's policy, there were voices that protested that true harmony can be achieved only when some majority efforts are made together. As long as the Prayuth government continues, the anti-secular line will continue, and Buddhism and Islam will still have to coexist in an imbalanced state in Thai society. However, peaceful harmony between the majority and the minority can be achieved if the government listens to the two-way harmony that is being talked about in Muslim societies and formulates and applies policies and plans.
