Abstract
Poor contact in high-current connections, such as those in power distribution panels, can lead to overheating and fires, making early detection essential. Traditional temperature-based monitoring often fails to detect faults until hazardous conditions are already present. This study proposes a real-time monitoring and control system that combines vision-based bolt loosening angle detection with temperature and vibration sensors. The system is capable of detecting subtle loosening as small as 1°, enabling early fault identification. Using over 2,000 experimental data points, a linear regression model was developed to predict temperature rise based on key parameters. Experimental results demonstrate that the system can issue timely warnings and, if necessary, perform automatic load disconnection to effectively reduce the risk of fire.
