초록

이 연구는 중학생 시기에 겪는 어려움 극복을 위한 지원방안 마련의 기초를 제공하는 것을 목적으로 수행되었으며, 이를 위해 중학생 시기에 경험하는 어려움을 극복할 수 있도록 부모와 학교와 사회가 어떻게 도와주기를 바라는지에 대한 청소년들의 바람을 조사하였다. 중학생 9명을 연구참여자로 모집하여 초점집단면담 방식으로 자료를 수집하였고, 반복적 비교분석법으로 내용을 분석하였다. 연구의 결과는 첫째, 청소년들은 부모들이 자녀를 대하는 태도에 있어서, 간섭 없이 믿고 지켜보기, 나를 이해하고 내 편 들어주기, 공부 부담 줄여주기, 휴식과 자유의 네 가지 태도를 기대하였다. 둘째, 청소년들은 학교에 대해, 개인 생각과 성향을 존중하는 교과 과정, 효율적인 학습을 기대하였다. 셋째, 청소년들은 사회에 대하여 하나의 인격체로 대해주기, 자유롭고 안전한 공간 제공을 기대하였다. 이 연구는 중학생 시기의 어려움 극복을 위해 청소년의 입장에서 어른과 사회에 기대하는 도움 내용을 파악하여 시사점을 도출하였다는 데에 연구의 의의가 있다.

Abstract

This study was conducted with the purpose of providing a basis for support to overcome difficulties among early adolescents in middle school. For this purpose, we investigated adolescents' wishes about how they would like their parents, school, and society to help them overcome the difficulties they experience during their early teenage years. Nine early adolescents were recruited as participants, data were collected through focus group interviews, and the content was analyzed using an constant comparison method. As a result of the study, first, adolescents expected four attitudes from parents towards their children: trusting and watching without interference, understanding and listening to me, reducing study burden, and rest and freedom. Second, adolescents expected school to have a curriculum that respects individual thoughts and tendencies, and efficient learning. Third, youth expected society to treat them as individuals and provide a free and safe space. The significance of this study is that it identified the help expected from adults and society to overcome difficulties in early adolescence from the perspective of adolescents, and derived implications based on this.
