초록

This treatise investigates the development of megane-e and uki-e which appeared after the European optiques (especially peep-boxes) and art theory were introduced to the Edo-period Japan in the first half of the 18th century. Also it analyses their influence on the landscape print of ukiyo-e in the 19th century. As the peep-box had been widely spread since 1750s in Japan, megane-e and uki-e were drawn under the strong influence of the Western linear perspective. Then, they tried to eclectically mingle the basic viewpoints of the traditional Eastasian painting (high angle) and the Western perspective as well as other painting techniques in shade and colors etc. Through these process the 'Japanese style of the print art' had been created since 1780s, and uki-e/megane-e were gradually integrated into the landscape ukiyo-e, so-called 'Edo (Tokyo) famous site pictures'.
