파머의 공동체 이론을 기반으로 하는 교육공동체 구성원들 간의 ‘상호연결성’ 회복에 관한 연구

본 연구는 우리 학교에서 단절의 근본 원인을 구성원들의 역량의 부족과 교육공동체에 대한 굳건한 믿음과 신뢰의 부족, 즉 “상호연결성”에 두고 있다. 그 주된 원인은 교육공동체 구성원간의 관계가 외형적인 관계에서만 머무르고 내적인 접근에 이르지 못하기 때문이다. 연구의 주된 목표는 파커 파머의 공동체 이론에 기반을 두어 교육현장의 단절과 분열의 상태, 즉 절연의 고통을 치유하고 회복할 수 있게 하는 데에 있으며, 파머의 공동체 이론을 기반으로 교육현장의 갈등 요인을 해결할 수 있는 “상호연결성”에 대하여 알아보고자 한다. 파머는 이런 것들의 진정한 해결을 위해서는 두려움(공포)을 물리치는 상호연결성을 회복하라고 한다. 이 말은 우리의 마음속에 내재된 자아와 다른 사람의 자아를 연결하라는 것이다. 타자에 대한 공포를 넘어 타자에 대한 존경 혹은 사랑으로 옮겨간 지식의 방법과 삶의 방법에 기반을 둘 때 진정한 교육공동체가 형성된다는 것이다. 교육공동체 구성원 모두가 기도와 묵상, 독서 등을 통하여 내면을 살찌우고 그 내면에서 가르침이 흘러나오게 해야 하며, 교육공동체 간의 상호연결성 회복에 노력하여야 한다.
Abstract
This study is based on the lack of capacity of members and the lack of firm faith and trust in the educational community, that is, “inter-connectivity” as the root cause of the disconnection in our school. The main reason for this is that the relationship between members of the educational community remains only on the surface, and does not reach the internal level. Based on Parker Palmer’s theory of community, we will learn about the state of disconnection and division in the educational field and the “inter-connection” that can solve conflicts in the educational field. For the real solution to these things, Palmer tells us to restore interconnection, which defeats fear, and to connect the “self ” inherent in our minds with the “self ” of others. A true educational community is formed when it is based on the knowledge and the way of life that has moved beyond fear of others to respect or love for others. All members of the educational community should gain inner strength through prayer, meditation, and reading, and let the teachings flow from within them, and strive to restore “inter-connectivity” between educational communities.
