초록

본 연구의 목적은 아동이 경험하는 빈곤관련 가족환경 위험요인의 잠재계층유형을 분류하고, 이들 유형이 문제행동에 미치는 영향을 부모양육효능감과 양육행동실천이라는 근접 매개변인이 매개하는지를 확인하는 것이다. 이를 위해 2014년 서울시교육청의 협조아래 학부모의 연구참여 동의를 얻은 초등학생과 중학생 820명과 그들의 주양육자 820명에게서 수집한 서울교육복지건강패널 1차년도 자료를 분석하였다. 소득빈곤, 의료욕구 미충족, 경제적 어려움, 식품불안정성, 비양친부모 동거가구, 주양육자 우울, 가정폭력 등을 빈곤관련 가족환경 위험요인으로 구성하여 잠재계층분석을 실시한 결과, 3개 잠재계층유형을 확인하였다. ‘비빈곤‧저위험집단’, ‘비소득빈곤‧고위험집단’, ‘소득빈곤‧다중위험집단’으로 명명된 3개 잠재계층유형은 개별위험요인의 동시투입방식, 누적지수방식, 누적지수에 따른 집단유형방식과 비교해 아동의 문제행동을 예측하는데 차별성과 유용성이 있음을 확인하였다. 이후 잠재계층유형이 부모양육효능감과 양육행동실천을 통해 아동의 문제행동에 부정적인 영향을 미치는지 매개효과를 분석하였다. 그 결과 소득빈곤과 복수의 위험요인을 동시에 경험하는 집단 뿐 만 아니라 소득빈곤을 경험하지 않더라도 복수의 위험요인을 경험하는 경우 부모양육효능감과 양육행동실천을 통해 아동의 문제행동에 부정적인 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 이는 아동 문제행동의 예방 및 개입과 관련하여 빈곤관련 가족환경 위험요인의 누적효과와 이질적인 하위집단유형을 고려해야 함을 의미한다. 이러한 분석결과에 기반해 정책적, 실천적 제언과 함의를 논의하였다.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to identify the underlying typology of poverty-related family environment risks of households with children, and to examine whether significant differences in children’s behavior problem are observed among these discrete groups. Latent class membership of poverty-related family environment risks was estimated with latent class analysis, and mediation analysis with multicategorical independent variable was employed to examine the mediating role of parental self-efficacy and parenting practices in the relationship between the latent classes and children’s behavior problem. Analytic results showed three latent classes of poverty-related family environment risks including ‘income poverty ․multiple risk group’, ‘non income poverty․high-risk group’, and ‘non poverty․low risk group’. Relative to non poverty/low risk group, those assigned to 2 poverty-related multiple risk groups were more likely to have behavior problem through the proposed mediators. Based on these findings, prevention and intervention programs for children exposed to poverty-related family environment risks will need to consider this heterogeneity of risks and enhance attention to parental self-efficacy and parenting practices on the subpopulation. Implications of study findings and suggestions for future research were discussed.
