WCC 종교대화 프로그램의 전개과정에 대한 비판적 성찰

WCC의 종교대화 프로그램은 1961년 뉴델리의 제 3차 WCC 총회에서 인도 신학자 더바난단(P. Devanandan)에 의하여 시작되었다. 이 프로그램은 공식적으로는 1970년 인도의 신학자들 사마르타, 파니카, 토마스 등에 의하여 공식적으로 논의되고 주장되었다. 이들은 “신중심적 모델”(theocentric model)을 제시하고 있다. 그리하여 바르트 이래 주장된 그리스도중심 신학의 종교 배타주의를 극복하고 라아너의 기독론적 보편주의까지 넘어서고 있다. 1960년대 WCC 운동은 종교대화 프로그램을 공동적인 인간성의 관점에서 정초하고자 하였다. 1970년에 WCC는 종교대화 프로그램을 공식적인 입장으로 천명하기에 이른다. 1980년대 WCC는 범종교적인 하나님 추구를 공식 프로그램으로 전개하였다. 1990년대 WCC는 타종교 안에 있는 “익명의 그리스도들”을 인정함으로써 기독교의 정체성에 심각한 위기를 초래하고 있다. 2000년대 WCC는 종교대화의 방향을 다음 세가지로 특징지우고 있다. 첫째, 모험적인 영성(adventurous spirituality)을 너머서, 둘째, 포스트-회심시대(a post-conversion era)에서 종교대화 테이블을 넓히는 것을 촉구, 셋째, “종교대화의 새로운 질”(a new quality of dialogue) 추구 한다. 이러한 WCC의 종교대화 프로그램은 종교간의 상호대립과 오해와 갈등을 풀어나감으로써 인류의 평화에 기여하고 있다. 그러나 교회적 연합은 교리적 모호성에 기반함으로써 다음의 비판에 직면한다. 첫째, WCC는 오늘날을 “종교적 회심이후의 시대로 규정하고 있다. 이것은 사도행전이 기록하는 베드로와 바울의 증언에 모순된다. 둘째, 종교대화와 그리스도의 유일성 주장은 상호모순 된다. 셋째, 선교개념이 개종(전도나 복음화)에서 “공동적인 인간됨 추구”로 변경된다. 넷째, 종교대화의 목표인 공동인간성 추구는 개종으로서 선교를 부정하기에 이른다. 공동인간성 추구는 교회연합체보다는 지구촌 NGO가 할 일이다.
Abstract
The religious dialogue program of WCC began by the imitative of Indian theologian P. Devandan at the third general assembly of New Delhi. This program was officially discussed and insisted by Indian theologians such as Samartha, Pannikar, and Thomas etc. They have suggested theocentric model, overcoming the religious exclusivism of Christ-centered theology insisted by Karl Barth and going beyond the Christological universalism of Karl Rahner. WCC religious dialogue program in 1960s tried to found the religious dialogue from the viewpoint of common humanity. WCC came to affirm religious pluralism as official position in 1970. WCC developed a pan-religious search for God as official program in 1980s. In 1990s WCC came to raise a severe crisis in Christian identity by approving "anonym Christ" existing in other religions. In st" s WCC has characterized the direction of religious dialogue in the three as follows. The he tribition of WCC religious dialogue program has given uehe tribition to make a world peace by solving the he frontation, misunderstanding and he flicts between religions. Church unity, howethr, based on the doctrinal ambiguity, faces critiques as follows: firstly, WCC considers today as ue in the three as fo. Such a thought he tradicts the Pauline and Peter's testimonies recorded in the Acts. secondly, religious dialogue and the thought of uniqueness of Jesus Christ contradict each other. thirdly, the change in the concept of mission rises. It is no longer proselytism but search for common humanity. fourthly, the search for the common humanity leads to denounce the mission as proselytism. A search for common humanity is what global NGO should do rathe r than the church community.
