신학의 근거로서의 인간이성과 역사성에 대한 연구

초록

신학은 theos(하느님)과 logos(말, 이성)에 그 뿌리를 두고 믿을 바를 인간의 이성을 통해 연구하는 학문이다. 신학은 오랜 기간 동안 하느님에 대해서이야기하면서 인간이성으로 대표되는 서양철학의 언어와 사고를 토대로 신앙을 탐구하였다. 각각의 개인과 공동체가 같은 문화나 역사를 공유하지 않을수록, 또한 그들이 시간과 공간을 공유하지 않을수록 신학을 하기 위해서이성적이라는 기준점에 대해서 고찰할 필요성이 생겨난다. 인간의 이성에대한 다양한 논의들이 있을 수 있지만 이 연구에서는 신학의 근거가 되는인간이성에 대한 논의 중 역사성이 만들어 내는 역사를 신학이 어떻게 바라보아야 할지를 중점적으로 다루고자 한다. 인간이 지닌 역사성은 교회 안뿐만 아니라 밖에서도 역사를 대하는 인간의 태도를 살필 수 있기에 이 두 태도를 살피는 과정을 통해서 복음이 세상과 이성적으로 연결되는 또 다른 접점을 모색하기 위해서이다. 역사의 일반적인 특징들은 역사 서술들이 지니고 있는 관점들을 통해서 살펴볼 수 있다. 그리스도인에게는 역사를 구원이라는 하느님의 초대로 이어지는 하나의 흐름으로 살피는 것이 익숙하지만역사를 우연적으로 바라보는 사관도 있으며, 역사를 하나의 흐름으로 파악하더라도 하느님이 아닌 다른 것을 그 중심에 놓고 생각하는 사관도 있다. 이 사관들의 공통점과 차이점을 통해서 역사가 신학의 근거가 되기 위해서고려되어야 할 역사의 특징들이 도출된다. 교회 안의 역사뿐만 아니라 교회밖의 역사 중 사실성이 뒷받침된 역사는 신학의 이성적인 근거가 될 수 있다. 또한 역사가 신학의 논거가 되기 위해서는 역사 안에서 그 의미가 어떻게 다루어지는지 분석이 되어야 한다. 이 작업을 바탕으로 그 역사는 신학에확실한 타당성을 지는 논증에 명확한 이유를 제시하지 못하더라도 가능성있는 타당성을 지닌 논증의 토대가 될 수 있다. 사실성과 의미에 대한 분석은 역사가 신학의 논증으로 자리 잡을 수 있는 토대를 제시한다. 이 연구에서 제시되는 것 외에도 이성적으로 논증되는 논거의 폭을 넓힐 때 그리고역사 안에 담긴 사람들의 구체적인 삶과 상호작용 할 때 교회는 아직 교회안에 머무르지 않는 사람들과도 한 자리에서 복음의 희망을 함께 나눌 수있을 것이다.

Abstract

Theology is the study of faith through human reason, with its foundation in theos (God) and logos (word, reason). Theology has a long history of talking about God and exploring faith through the lens of humanity, that is, the language and thinking of Western philosophy. The more individuals and communities do not share the same culture or history, and the more they do not share the same time and space, the more it becomes necessary to consider the reference point of rationality in order to do theology. There are many different discussions of human reason. In this study, the discussion of human reason as a basis for theology will focus on how theology should view the history that historicity creates. The historicity of human beings allows us to examine human attitudes toward history both inside and outside the church. Thus, the process of examining these two attitudes toward history will allow us to explore another point of contact where the gospel can reasonably connect with the world. The general characteristics of history can be seen through the perspectives of historical narratives. While Christians are accustomed to seeing history as a flow leading to God’s invitation to salvation, there are other views that see history as contingent, and others that see history as a flow but place something other than God at its center. The commonalities and differences between these perspectives reveal features of history that must be considered if history is to be a basis for theology. History, both within the Church and outside the Church, can be a rational basis for theology if it is supported by factual evidence. In addition, for history to be a theological argument, it must be analyzed in terms of how its meaning is handled in history and its factuality. Based on this work, the history can be the basis for an argument that has probable validity, even if it does not provide clear reasons for an argument that has definite validity in theology. By broadening the range of reasoned arguments, the church will be able to share the hope of the gospel with those who are not yet in the church.
