十返舎一九としての嘉永期著作活動考 - 長編続物合巻『御贄美少年始』を中心に -

문학사에서 가에이(嘉永:1848-1854)기 이후 고칸은 장편 시리즈물 고칸(長編続物合 巻)이 간행되면서 장편이 점차 주류가 되어 간다. 이 시대를 산 산테 슌바 즉 삼대 짓펜샤 잇쿠 또한 시류에 적극적으로 대응하려고 하였다. 그러한 산물이 바로 『오토시다마 비쇼넨시』(御贄美少年始)였던 셈이다. 『오토시다마 비쇼넨시』는 바킨작 요미혼(読本) 『『긴세세쓰 비쇼넨로쿠』(近世説美少年録)의 고칸화(合巻化)라고 하는 특수한 성립 사정이 얽힌 문제작이었다. 그러한 문제가 예상되는 제작환경을 둘러싼 속사정 및 저술방침을 엿볼 수 있는 단서로서, 서문을 중심으로 번각․독해하면서 서지학적 고찰을 행하였다. 그 결과, 바킨작 요미혼 『긴세세츠 비쇼넨로쿠』를 『오토시다마 비쇼넨시』라는 초록 고칸(抄録合巻)으로서 재탄생시킨 비화 및 장편 연작물(長編続物)이 될 수 있었던 배경으로 다음을 추정하였다. 즉, 숨겨진 출판업자 쓰타키치(蔦吉)의 패기와 원작자 슌바의 마음고생, 슌바 사망 후 「계승저술(嗣録:かきつぎ)」이라는 고생을 감수한 류테 센카(笠亭仙果:1804-1868)의 덕분으로 인해, 바킨 요미혼은 12편까지 이어지는 시리즈물 고칸이 될 수 있었던 것이다.
Abstract
In the historical transition of the “Gokan” from 1848 to 1854, the long Series “Gokan” is published and gradually becomes the mainstream. Santei Syunba who is the Jippensya Ikku Ⅲ, who lived in such an era, was proactively responding to the flow of the era. The product was “Otosidama-bisyonensi”. I argued that Bakin’s Yomihon could become a series of 12 volumes because of the birth of “Otosidama-bisyonensi” as an abstract of Gokan Bakin’s Yomihon “Kinsesechu-bisyonenroku”, publisher Chutakichi’s enthusiasm and his struggles behind the background that could be the long story series Syunba’s hardships and with the help of Ryutei Senka who took care of the hard work of “inheriting and writing” after the original author Syunba’s death.
