‘놀이’측면에서 본 한국 춤 연구

본 연구는 역사적 흐름을 토대로 발전해 온 ‘놀이적’ 측면에서의 한국 춤을 분석하고자 한다. 즉 춤의 범위가 확장되어가는 현 시점에서 한 측면으로만 치중되어 연구되어 왔던 한국 춤을 인식하고 그동안 소홀하게 다루었던 연구 분야를 고찰하는데 그 목적이 있다. 이는 점차 다변화되고 다양성이 요구되는 지금 다른 분야들과도 상호연관성을 갖고 직접적인 교류를 함으로써 새로운 유형의 춤 연구를 가능하게 하는데 그 의의가 있을 것이다. 이에 본 논문에서는 춤을 시대별로 고대의 춤, 중세의 춤, 근대의 춤으로 구분하였고, 그 구분의 기준은 한국사에 내재하는 특수성을 바탕으로 세계사에서 공통적으로 사용하는 것을 선택하였다(두산백과). 그에 따른 연구방법으로는 서술적 연구를 기본으로 문헌자료와 전문서적, 단행본, 학위· 학술지 논문 등을 참고하였다. 또한 연구내용의 범위를 고대부터 근대까지만 한정하여 한국의 ‘놀이’로서의 춤을 역사적 흐름을 토대로 살펴보았다. 그 결과 춤은 역사 속 시대적 배경에 따라 삶과 끊임없이 관계를 맺으며 움직임의 일상적 기능을 통해 나타나 왔다. 한국의 춤도 그 필요성과 요구에 의해서 형성된 가운데 ‘놀이’가 춤의 한 영역으로 발전되어 왔음을 본 연구의 내용을 통해 확인하고자 한다. 그 예로 고대, 중세, 근대의 춤을 통해서 종교적 의식에서 시작된 우리 민족의 춤이 여러 제천행사에서 집단적 가무를 보이며 놀이의 형식을 띈 것과 그 외 다른 환경에서도 축제적인 요소와 함께 신명난 움직임이 나타났던 사실들을 들 수 있다. 따라서 본 연구를 통하여 연구자는 역사적 흐름을 토대로 발전해 온 한국 춤이 각 시대별로 ‘놀이적’측면에서 꾸준히 발전하여 왔으며, 무엇보다도 그에 따른 놀이의 특성이 시대적 차이가 있음에도 불구하고 대동성과 연희성, 오락성 등으로 비슷한 요소가 나타났음을 확인할 수 있다.
Abstract
With the historical background, dance has constantly formed relationships with living and appeared through our day-to-day functions of movement. Dance in Korea was formed by the needs and demands of people, and the 'play' has evolved into one type of dances But dance like 'play' in this rapidly changing world shows signs of only one aspect. As a large amount of researches are submitted and problems turned out, the current situation affected today's dance requiring diversity a lot. Therefore, In this study we analyze Korean dance from the 'play' perspective along the historical flow. In other words, under the present situation that we are expanding the range of dance, our purpose is to point out Korean dances that had been studied and focus on the only one aspect. We aim to consider the field of study that’d been neglected so far. To do it, this paper we divided the period of dance by ancient times, Middle Ages and modern times, and according to this standards, we chose the commonly used thing in the history of world based on the uniqueness inherent in the Korean history. Narrative researches were obtained from the literature and professional publications, such as books and academic journals and articles. Furthermore, we limited the scope of research contents from the ancient times to the modern times and investigated Korean dance as 'play' depending on the historical trends. For the purpose of this study, the author examines Korean dance in terms of not only 'play' but also art in order to explore the unique realm of Korean dance as 'play' in contemporary age and society. Therefore, now new types of researches should be attempted for dance to form interaction with other fields and make direct exchanges. Like various types of dances in the past, dance laid the foundation for Korean dance .So our future attempts will become a very useful and meaningful means to popularize dancing and expand its foundation. These days, it is increasingly diversified and its significance enables to create a new type of dance research with the diversity that now needs interconnections with other disciplines by exchanges directly.
