본 연구의 목적은 중년기 성인의 자기이해 수준을 측정하는 신뢰롭고 타당한 척도를 개발하는 것이다. 이를 위해 중년기 자기이해를 탐색적으로 조사한 선행연구와 문헌 및 관련 측정 도구 검토를 통해 조작적 정의를 내리고 예비문항을 설정하였다. 이후 6인의 전문가 평정팀, 3인의 전문가 평정팀을 통해 1, 2차 내용타당도 검토와 피드백을 받아 최종 예비문항 46개를 결정하였다. 이를 탐색적 요인분석과 확인적 요인분석을 이용하여 척도의 하위요인 구조를 확인하였다. 요인분석 결과 총 12개 문항, 3요인 구조의 척도가 완성되었다. 각각의 요인은 6개 문항으로 이루어진 ‘삶의 목적과 의미에 대한 자기이해’, 3개 문항의 ‘진정으로 원하는 것에 대한 자기이해’ 마지막으로 3개 문항으로 이루어진 ‘중년기 변화에 대한 자기이해’로 명명되었다. 본 연구에서는 최근 그 중요성이 강조되고 있는 중년기의 자기이해에 대해 살펴보고, 중년기 자기이해 측정 도구를 개발하였다. 이를 통해 향후 다양한 중년기 연구들이 시도되고 분석되는 데 중요한 역할을 할 것으로 기대된다.
Abstract
The purpose of this study was to develop a reliable and valid scale for measuring the level of self-understanding in middle age. An exploratory review of previous studies on middle-aged self-understanding, literature and relevant measurement tools, was conducted to establish operational definitions and develop preliminary items. Subsequently, 6 experts and then a panel of 3 experts provided feedback on the content validity of the preliminary items, resulting in a final selection of 46 preliminary items. Exploratory factor analysis and confirmatory factor analysis were then conducted to confirm the sub-factor structure of the scale and to name each factor. The factor analysis resulted in the completed scale with a total of 12 items and a 3-factor structure. Each factor was named as follows: "Self-understanding of life's purpose and meaning" consisting of 6 items, "Self-understanding of what is truly desired" consisting of 3 items, and finally "Self-understanding of middle-aged changes" consisting of 3 items. In this study, we examined the self-understanding of middle age, which has recently been emphasized, and developed a measurement tool for self-understanding in middle age based on this examination. It is expected that this will play an important role in facilitating and analyzing various future studies on middle age.
