여성적 글쓰기의 관점에서 본 동시대 한국연극의 여성서사의 한계와 비판–<배소고지 이야기–기억의 연못>을 사례로

연극 <배소고지 이야기 – 기억의 연못>은 한국전쟁 당시 이루어진 양민학살 사건을 소재로 한다. 지금까지 전쟁이 남성 위주로 서사 되었다면, 이 연극은 여성의 관점에서 한국전쟁을 복기하는 여성서사로 가치가 있다. 그러나 본고는 이 연극이 진정으로 여성의 관점에서 여성성을 무대에 글쓰기 하였는가? 나아가 동시대 연극으로서 어떠한 여성서사의 가치를 나타내는가를 살펴보고, 엘렌 식수의 여성적 글쓰기라는 개념으로 그 한계를 비판하였다. 그 결과 <배소고지 이야기>가 지니는 통과의례적 상징구조와 비밀을 밝혀 나가는 드라마투르기의 중첩은 여성 고유의 관점을 제시하는 데 한계가 있었다. 그리고 여성서사의 가장 중요한 특징으로 간주되는 억압된 여성의 침묵 깨기 행위는 약한 상징성으로 축소됨으로써 여성이 전쟁서사의 주체이지만 여성적 관점에서 지나간 전쟁을 서사하는데 한계가 있었다. 그럼에도 어머니라는 모성의 다성적 언어와 노래로 그리고 고통스런 사랑의 감각으로 기입되어 있는 여성성의 표현도 체현되었다. <배소고지 이야기>에서 가장 비판할 지점은 바로 남근중심적 이미지의 재현이었다. 실제 존재했던 성폭력 장면을 남성 코러스로 가시화하는 장면은 남성적 서사의 욕망이 아닐 수 없다. 본고를 통해 동시대연극의 여성서사가 여성적 글쓰기로 나아가야 함을 확인할 수 있었다.
Abstract
The Story of Baesogoji – The Pond of Memory is based on the incident of the massacre of the people during the Korean War. If the war has been narrated mainly by men so far, this play is valuable as a female narrative that revives the Korean War from a woman's point of view. However, did this play truly write femininity on the stage from a woman's point of view? Furthermore, it examined what kind of female narrative value it represents as a contemporary play, and criticized and analyzed its limitations with the concept of Feminine Writing. As a result, the superposition of dramaturgie, which reveals the passage ritual symbol structure of "The Story of Baeso High School" and the secret, had limitations in presenting a woman's unique perspective. In addition, the act of breaking the silence of oppressed women, considered the most important characteristic of female narratives, was reduced to weak symbolism, so women are the subject of war narratives, but there was a limit to narrating past wars from a feminine point of view. Nevertheless, the expression of femininity written in the polyphonic language and song of the motherhood, as well as in a painful sense of love, was also embodied. The most critical point in "The Story of Baeso High School" was the reproduction of the male-dominated image. The scene that visualizes the actual sexual violence scene to the male chorus is the desire for a masculine narrative. Through this paper, it was confirmed that the female narrative of the contemporary play should move on to feminine writing.
