본 연구는 환경은 그 자체로 배경으로 존재하는 것이 아니라 행위유도성(affordance)을 갖는다는 점에 주목하여, 유튜브라는 교육 환경을 생태학적 관점에서 체계적으로 이해하는 데 목적이 있다. 이를 위해 본 연구에서는 우선 제2언어로서 한국어 발달에 영향을 미치는 학습 환경을 거시체계-외체계-중간체계-미시체계로 구조화하여 다층적으로 분석할 수 있는 이론적 틀을 검토하였다. 그리고 실제 유튜브에서 이루어지는 상호작용의 양상을 미시체계와 중간체계 수준에서 분석하고, 더 나아가 이에 영향을 미치는 사회문화적 특성을 외체계와 거시체계 수준에서 분석하였다. 이러한 분석 결과를 토대로 첫째, 전통적인 교실 현장 중심의 관점을 벗어나 교육 현장의 외연을 확장하고 그곳에서 이루어지는 학습자들의 경험에 대한 심도 있는 이해가 요구되며, 둘째, 학습자가 직접적으로 교육 경험을 설계하고 실행하며 책임질 수 있는 학습자 주도성을 길러 줄 필요가 있음을 제언하였다.
Abstract
This study aims to understand the Korean language learning experience on YouTube from an ecological perspective. It argues that the environment does not only serve as a background but functions as an affordance. To prove this, this study first reviewed a theoretical framework to analyze the learning environment affecting the development of Korean as a second language in a multilayered manner, organizing it into macro-, exo-, meso-, and micro-systems. The interaction patterns on YouTube were analyzed at the micro- and meso-system levels, and the sociocultural characteristics influencing them were analyzed at the exo- and macro-system levels. Based on the findings, it was proposed that the scope of the educational field be extended beyond the conventional classroom-centric perspective to gain a more profound comprehension of learners' experiences. Additionally, learner autonomy should be cultivated so learners can devise, execute, and assume responsibility for their own educational experiences.
