상호문화 의사소통능력 신장을 위한 한국 현대소설 활용 방안 연구 - 『한씨연대기』를 중심으로-

Abstract

This study proposes a pedagogical approach that utilizes modern Korean novels to enhance the intercultural communicative competence (ICC) of advanced-level Chinese learners majoring in Korean. The research begins by outlining the concept and components of ICC and critically reviewing existing studies on intercultural education and literature-based instruction within Korean language education. Han Chronicles by Hwang Sok-yong is selected as the core text. Key elements-such as address and reference terms, ideological vocabulary, and narratives of national division-are examined for their pedagogical value in promoting intercultural awareness and discourse-level understanding. Based on this analysis, the study presents a three-session instructional design that moves beyond cultural comprehension to support the development of functional discourse strategies through contextualized practice of communicative functions. The proposed lessons engage learners in intercultural comparison, pragmatic adjustment, and empathetic interaction, illustrating how literature-based Korean language education can develop into a more communicative and context-sensitive model for fostering ICC.
