『국조오례통편(國朝五禮通編)』의 자료적 특징

본고는 유일본으로 전해지는 『국조오례통편』의 자료적 특징을 검토하기 위해 작성되었다. 조선의 지식인들이 국가전례를 정비하기 위해 노력한 것은 조선이 유교식 예제를 제대로 실천하는 문화국가임을 보이기 위해서였다. 특히 18세기의 국왕인 영조와 정조는 국가전례를 정비하고 그 결과를 국가전례서로남겼는데, 『국조속오례의』『국조속오례의보』『국조상례보편』『춘관지』『국조오례통편』『춘관통고』는 그 결과물이다. 현재 이화여대 도서관이 소장하고 있는 『국조오례통편』은 정조대에 편찬된 책으로, 기존의 국가전례서를 종합하면서 『춘관통고』가 편찬될 수 있는 토대가 되었다. 『국조오례통편』은 1788년에 유의양이 초고를 완성했기 때문에 『국조상례보편』이 편찬된 1757년 이후 새롭게 정비된 의례가 잘 나타나며, 15세기부터 18세기 후반까지 정비된 국가전례를 체계적으로 정리하여 한눈에 파악할 수 있도록 한 것이 특징이다. 본고에서는 『국조오례통편』에 수록된 의례 가운데 왕세손(정조) 관련 의례, 친경,친잠 관련 의례, 경모궁,현륭원 관련 의례를 집중적으로 검토했는데, 이들은 모두 국가전례를 정비하던 영조와 정조의 노력이 잘 나타나는 의례이다. 현재 『국조오례통편』필사본은 이화여자대학교 도서관, 서울대학교 규장각한국학연구원, 한국학중앙연구원 장서각 등 세 기관에 분산되어 있다. 필자는 이들 자료를 수합하여 완질로 보급하려는 노력이 필요하다고 생각한다.
Abstract
This paper was written to research the characteristic data of Kukjo orye tongpyeon which remains the only book in Ehwa Womans University Library. Chosŏn’s elite tried to perform national rituals perfectly to show off that Chosŏn was the civilized country. Especially King Youngjo and King Jeongjo improved the national rituals and made many ritual books like Kukjo sok-oryeui, Kukjo sok-oryeuibo, Kukjo sangrye bopyun, Chunkwan-ji, Kukjo orye tongpyeon, Chunkwan tonggo etc. Kukjo orye tongpyeon compiled during King Jeongjo’s reign is the ritual book which united every ritual data before then and became the basis of Chunkwan tonggo. Because Kukjo orye tongpyeon was finished in 1788 by Yu Eui-yang, we can know easily the newly made rituals after 1757 in which Kukjo sangrye bopyeon was published. Also we can get a view of the whole national rituals which made from 15th century until 18th century in Chosŏn dynasty. In this paper, I introduced rituals connection with the eldest son of the Crown Price, Chingyeong and Chinjam, Kyeongmokung shrine and Hyunryungwon tomb. We can see well King Youngjo and King Jeongjo’s efforts to improve the national rituals in these rituals. Now the hand-written Kukjo orye tongpyeon was kept separately in Ehwa Womans University Library, Seoul National University Kyujanggak Institute, the Academy of Korean Studies Jangseogak. I propose to unite all the book located in three places and reproduce a perfect version.
