본 연구는 환경중심 언어중재를 자폐성 아동에게 적용한 단일사례 연구를 종합하여, 환경중심 언어중재가 자폐성 아동의 의사소통능력에 미치는 효과에 관한 일반화된 결론을 도출하는데 목적을 두고 있다. 본 연구의 목적을 달성하기 위하여, 1995 년부터 2007년 문 14편을 대상으로 비중복 비율 기법(PND)을 활용하여 메타분석을 실시하였다. 본 연구결과, 환경중심 언어중재는 자폐성 아동의 의사소통능력에 중간 정도의 효과가 있었으며(PND med=8.3), 유지(PND med=100) 및 100)에는 높은 효과가 있는 것으로 나타났다. 한편 환경중심 언어중재 프로그램에 영향을 주는 매개변인에는 중재자 변인, 실험회기 변인, 실험시간 변인 등이었다. 즉, 형제, 가성 아동들의 의사소통기능에 효과가 높게 나타났다. 본 연구의 결과들을 종합하면, 환경중심 언어중재가 자폐성 아동의 의사소통능력에 효과적인 언어중재 방법이라고 결론을 내릴 수 있다.

The effect of milieu language teaching on communicative function of children with autistic children: A meta-analysisPark, Il-Soo*The purpose of this study was to synthesize research results of milieu language teaching studies in Korea, using meta-analysis. Therefore, this study was to draw general conclusion from studies on the effect of milieu language teaching on comunicative function of children with autistic children. As a result of systematically scaning for master's thesis and journal, the 38 finding of the 14 studies were obtained for final analysis focusing on effectiveness of milieu language teaching on comunicative function of children with autistic children 1995 to 2007. The findings were transformed into percent of nonoverlapping data(PND). The formula used to compute the PND may be found in Scruggs, Mastropieri, and Casto(1987).
