浅谈1930年代右翼韩人题材小说<日本海之绝崖>

1930년대 민족주의 문예운동에 참여한 우익 작가들은 비록 최초로 한인 소재 작품을 창작한 작가군이었지만, 중국 현대문학 한인 제재 작품 연구에서 관심을 받지 못했다. 왜냐하면 정치이데올로기의 영향으로 우익문학이 오랜 동안 비판받았기 때문이다. 이 논문의 연구 대상 <日本海之絶崖>는 이전의 연구에서 언급되지 않은 한인 제재 소설이다. 1934년 8월 1일 출판된 《華北月刊》 제2권 제1집에 발표되었다. 작가인 邱楠은 이 소설을 발표했을 때 겨우 19살이었고, 《華北月刊》의 편집장을 역임하고 있었다. <日本海之絶崖>는 일제강점기에 친일파 조선 청년 김원신이 민족 정체성 혼란에서 각성하여 독립 혁명가가 되는 과정을 드러냈다. 이 소설의 인물 형상은 여전히 우익 작가 한인 제재 작품에서 일관되게 나오는 혁명가 형상에 벗어나지 않았지만, 초기에 친일파의 신분, 그리고 점차 민족 정체성을 자각해 가는 과정에 대한 묘사는 다른 작품에서 보지 못한 내용이다. 일본 정부가 정신 식민을 강화하면서, 일제 강점기의 조선에서는 수많은 친일파가 나타났다. 특히 식민사회에서 성장한 많은 조선 청년들은 민족 정체성의 혼란을 겪으며 자기도 모르게 민족의식을 잃었다. 우익문인들은 현대문학 한인 제재 창작에서 먼저 이 문제를 인식한 작가들이다. 邱楠는 이 소설을 통해서 조선 혁명가들이 독립을 추구하는 강렬한 의지를 찬양함으로써 중국인들에게 민족 정체성의 중요성을 각인시키고, 진정한 민족 자립을 위해 노력하자고 격려했다.
Abstract
The right-wing writers who were activists in nationalist literature and art movement in the 1930s were the earliest writers who started to create Korean figures in their works in modern Chinese literature history. However, those works with Korean figures have been criticized and neglected for a long time alongside with other right-wing literature due to political reasons, and thus, did not get enough attention they deserve. “The Cliff of the Japan Sea” is one of them which has never been mentioned in previous studies. It was published on August 1, 1934, “North China Monthly”, Volume 2, Issue 1. Qiu Nan, the author, who became famous and knowledgeable as a teenager, was only 19 years old when this article was published and was then the editor of “North China Monthly”. “The Cliff of the Japan Sea” shows Jin Yuanxin, the main character’s identity struggling, and how he gave up the Japanophile ideology and embrace his Korean national identity during the Japanese colonial period. When his national consciousness was eventually awakened, he embarked on the road of independent revolution. Although the character’s image has not deviated from the consistent image of a revolutionary in the right-wing writer Korean theme works, the identity setting of the pro-Japanese persona at the time of the character’s appearance and the process of progressively awakening the national consciousness are unseen in other works. Under Japan’s so-called spiritual colonization, many Japanphiles appeared in Korea at that time. Many young people who grew up in colonial society lost their national identity unconsciously. The right-wing literati are the first group of writers who paid attention to this issue. The author focused on Jin Yuanxin’s gradual transformation process of awakening and made him the son of Korea. In the book author also praised the Korean revolutionary’s strong will to seek independence, and in the meantime, he tried to exhorting Chinese people to remember their national identity and fight for their motherland’s independence.
