Abstract
This study explored the experiences of participating in the network and its significance in depth, focusing on the case of Region E, in order to find ways to revitalize the network of lifelong learning cities for persons with disabilities. The study found that the network of lifelong learning cities for persons with disabilities serves as an important foundation for local-based lifelong education for persons with disabilities and is a major network that promotes interaction between learners with disabilities and related organizations. Therefore, this study makes the following suggestions for the activation of the network of lifelong learning cities for persons with disabilities. First, stable budget support and strengthening of the policy foundation are required to ensure the sustainability of the network. Second, a sustainable network should be built based on the autonomous participation and sense of responsibility of its members by establishing a common business vision and goals by sharing the perspectives on the project among the participants. Third, the network's achievements should be actively shared to spread the importance of lifelong learning for persons with disabilities in the community. Fourth, the network should strengthen public-private cooperation to solve the problem of resource shortages and expand the network. Fifth, a system ensuring stable participant involvement must be established to secure operational stability for the network. This study aims to contribute practically to the field of lifelong education by reexamining the role and importance of networks in lifelong education for persons with disabilities and, based on this, proposing practical alternatives for revitalizing lifelong education for persons with disabilities.
