연구 목적: 본 연구의 주요 목적은 브라질 룰라 대통령 집권시기(2003~2010)에 발표된 대통령 연설문 분석을 통한 국정운영 및 대외정책 중심가치를 고찰하는 것이다. 연구 방법: 이를 위해 수집된 연설문 20건을 기반으로 텍스트마이닝 분석의 일환으로서 TF-IDF 가중치를 반영한 키워드 분석을 실시하였다. 연구 내용: 분석대상 연설문을 1) 대국민 메시지, 2) 국제경제, 3) 글로벌 이슈, 그리고 4) 지역통합 및 남남협력 주제로 각각 분류하여 분석결과를 고찰하였다. 연구 결과 룰라 대통령은 ‘가난’, ‘굶주림’ 등의 단어를 사용하며 빈곤퇴치를 강조하고 있었으며, 모든 카테고리에 걸쳐 관련 키워드가 상위에 위치하고 있음을 확인할 수 있었다. 결론 및 제언: 본 연구는 연설문 분석에 있어 양적 분석에 천착하여 보다 깊이 있는 연설문 분석이 부족했다는 한계점이 존재하는 것이 사실이다. 향후 연설문을 분석함에 있어 양적 분석뿐 아니라 질적 내용분석과의 병용을 통해 심도있는 연구를 수행해야 할 것이다.
Abstract
This study aims to examine the central value of domestic and foreign policy through the analysis of presidential speeches addressed during the Brazilian President Lula’s term (2003-2010). To this end, keyword analysis reflecting TF-IDF weights was conducted based on 20 collected speeches. The speeches were analyzed by classifying the topics into 1) a message to the public, 2) an international economy, 3) global issues, and 4) regional integration and South-South cooperation. As a result, Lula emphasized poverty eradication by using words such as “poverty” and “hunger”, and related keywords were at the top in all categories. This study has a limitation in that there was a lack of qualitative approach in speech analysis. A more in-depth research should be conducted in combination with qualitative and quantitative analysis in future studies.
